Grain-free baking can be so intimidating, especially if you are new to it.  This is the perfect recipe, to get you going, and boost your confidence.  These brownies are truly out of this world, nutrient-dense chocolatey deliciousness.

The very first time I made these brownies, both my kids agreed that they tasted better than traditional brownies, and I agree.  We always fight over the middle piece…

These brownies are delicious by themselves, but you can uplevel them with my favorite all-purpose caramel sauce, heavy whipped cream, or some delicious vanilla ice cream.

Happy eating!

Brownies {Grain-Free}

A delicious grain-free brownie recipe, with all the chocolatey goodness.

  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup creamy almond butter
  • 3 large pastured eggs
  • ½ cup raw cacao
  • ½ cup coconut milk, full-fat + unsweetened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 3 oz. dark chocolate chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F, and line an 8×8 inch square baking dish with unbleached parchment paper.

  2. Using a hand mixer, mix the almond butter and maple syrup together in a large bowl, until creamy. Add the eggs, cacao powder, coconut milk, vanilla, baking soda, and sea salt.

  3. Mix together until incorporated, don't forget to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean. The middle will be a slightly gooey, but that is ok, because it will continue to cook out of the oven.

  5. Cool for 10 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
