This website is my happy place, where my nutritional therapy background, easy recipes, wellness tips, and the simplicity of mindful living comes together to inspire you to live a happy, healthy, and balanced life.

I was a 26-year-old mom, miserable, exhausted, and somewhat hopeless. That is not exactly how a 20-something-year-old should feel. My life felt over as I’d known it. I’d spent the previous year and a half surviving countless doctor’s appointments, blood tests, sonograms, MRIs, and mammograms, flipping through outdated magazines in waiting rooms, waiting for answers.

That answer? Hypothyroidism, with a side of an autoimmune disease called Hashimotos, and a large benign tumor in my breast. What should have offered clarity, hope, and next steps ended up with me being sent home with many medications and absolutely no guidance on managing these new diagnoses and lifestyle.

I'm Chantal

I started “Nurture Me Wild” as a resource and a source of hope for women also on a journey, creating a life filled with mindfulness, simple nourishment, health, happiness, and balance.

Shortly after going on medication for these conditions, I suffered severe side effects in the form of even more fatigue, anxiety, migraines, extreme mood swings, and spells of insomnia. I struggled to adapt to this “new” normal, even though the doctor tried to convince me that this “new normal” was completely normal for all of these conditions – I was miserable, hopeless, sad, and desperate.

In my heart, I knew there had to be a better way; there had to be hope somewhere – surely, this wouldn’t be my reality for the rest of my life.

I took major control of what I put into my body, to what I put on my body. Along the way, I switched from desperation, hopelessness, and survival mode to full-on mindfulness, joy, and being fully nourished. This didn’t happen without some big leaps and even bigger stumbles along the way. It is an ever-evolving process, as life ebbs and flows in many seasons.

After many hours of intense research and the help of a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I radically transformed my diet and lifestyle, eliminating highly processed foods and sweeteners. I decided that eating nutrient-dense, real, whole food could be the key to nourishment, and I haven’t looked back.

My health took a drastic turn in the most beautiful way, yet some little pesky symptoms continued to linger even though I was doing all the “right” things. Come to find out, my mercury-based amalgam fillings and a residual jaw-bone infection from my wisdom teeth extraction decades ago were the root cause and beginning of my disease. Removing the slow yet constant drip of toxins into my body and a very targeted detoxification protocol has been the ultimate game-changer in my overall wellness.
