Growing up my mom used to buy this delicious minty chocolate sauce in a bottle that would form this delightful magic chocolate shell the moment it came in contact with ice cream. As kids, we thought it was so fun, but as an adult, I can’t help but wonder what chemicals and preservatives they used in order to great this magic.
The kids and I love making homemade ice cream, which made me think of this chocolate sauce, so I decided to experiment – and it worked beautifully.
My kids are hooked, and I am so glad to be able to share a little of my childhood minus the toxins.
I recently found this delicious grass-fed chocolate bar with clean ingredients that I used as the base, added a tablespoon of coconut oil, and then a few drops of therapeutic grade peppermint essential oil for the minty flavor.
Our favorite way to eat this magic chocolate shell is over homemade vanilla ice cream.
Happy eating!
Please note: make sure you use pure essential oil so you’re not accidentally adding synthetic chemicals or other vegetable oils and harmful fillers into your diet.
