One of my favorite things to do when I feel the onset of feeling under the weather is to get those little immune-boosting shots at the store – the problem is that it can add up rather quickly. So instead, I decided to make it at home, which is just as tasty and potent but at a fraction of the cost. This immune-boosting shot recipe is very easy to make, with simple and easy-to-find ingredients.

My favorite thing about this immune-boosting shot recipe is it contains many common kitchen ingredients. Surprisingly, most people forget that a real food kitchen can also be a medicinal treasure trove.

Common kitchen ingredients in immune-boosting shots

Not so long ago, the kitchen was a place for nourishment and medicinal healing. Keeping this in mind will make you look at your kitchen and all the beautiful real food ingredients through a different lens. Immune-boosting shots are a simple yet effective way to support and strengthen the immune system.

Oranges

Rich in vitamin C (double our daily need), oranges boost and support the immune system. As a matter of fact, they are also rich in other minerals and antioxidants that help heart and kidney health.

Lemons

Rich in antioxidants, lemons protect cells from damage. Furthermore, lemons also contain loads of vitamin C for immune health and support the liver in producing more enzymes to stimulate or catalyze chemical reactions in the body.

Ginger

Ginger contains a proteolytic enzyme that reduces inflammation and pain. The volatile oils have similar anti-inflammatory properties as NSAIDs.

Immune-booster shots are great for immune health and support. Furthermore, they are easy to adjust and include various ingredients for specific symptoms that need support.

This basic immune-boosting shot is a must-have tool in every natural medicine cabinet.

Happy healing!
